Residential Interiors – Kitchen

West Kensington, London – three bedroom maisonette.

This apartment had originally been rented for some time and the original decoration was looking rather tired. The client’s brief was to transform the place into a bright colourful home.

The kitchen was redesigned and a unique contemporary and eclectic scheme of finishes and furniture was put together and plenty of extra overhead lighting was added transforming this north facing apartment into a bright and interesting living space. Warm tones have been used for the larger areas such as the floor and plain walls to help compensate the cooler north light.

Testimonial from the clients:

"We had just bought a property in West Kensington we were only too grateful and happy to be guided by Ruth. Our property was in a state of disrepair with off white walls, bad lighting and bits of cheap furniture still left in situ. The kitchen is North facing and was at the time a darkroom with little light and character. We had a chat with Ruth in the very early days of owning this property, and were instantly inspired and delighted by her constant flow of creative ideas, her wonderful articulation of how they may be achieved, her tremendous enthusiasm and energy and her very practical advice that we came to value time and time again.

I would recommend Ruth wholeheartedly to anyone that cares about good taste and living comfortably and practically, in very beautiful surroundings. She is also a delightful person on a personal level and always a joy to spend time with, making the onerous task of redecoration far more pleasant, than it might otherwise be. She is professional and savvy, knowing how to deal with everyone from the plasterer to the curtain maker, always asking the right questions and making sure the work is done to it's highest standard"
