Commercial Interiors – Bar

THE COMMANDER, Hereford Rd, Notting Hill

The client wanted to make full use of the double story bar/restaurant and turn it into a multi function venue to include a gallery, private function room and a smaller meeting room on the first floor. Working for Mackenzie Wheeler Architects, I was engaged to design decorative scheme for the interiors.

THE COMMANDER, Hereford Rd, Notting Hill - Ground Floor Porterhouse Restaurant and Oyster Bar.

The ground floor bar and restaurant was transformed into a Canadian inspired Porterhouse Restaurant and Oyster Bar. The bar was moved to the back wall and the existing submarine like structure was given a new lease of life. A traditional but dramatic scheme of finishes, furniture and lighting was put together to create more atmosphere.

Testimonial from the clients:

"‘We have worked with Ruth on a number of hospitality and interior design initiatives from small projects to major refurbishments. Ruth listens very carefully to the clients brief and then applies her extensive experience to produce innovative and interesting design, whilst always remaining faithful to the client’s operational and business plan requirements. I will have no hesitation in working with Ruth again in the future and in recommending her outstanding work to others"
